House Theory began with a simple frustration: shopping for a home tells you what things cost, but never what they mean.

So we inverted the order. Every collection here starts as research — a period, a palette, a way of using light — and is written before it is furnished. The objects arrive last, chosen because they hold the argument together.

We call them worlds rather than categories. A world has weather, a time of day, a level of formality. It tells you whether you are meant to whisper or to laugh loudly. Furniture categories tell you none of that.
